In this privacy policy you can read more about how Ingvard Christensen A/S (hereinafter "Haus") collects and processes the personal data you provide when you visit our website, our furniture stores, and use the various services and functionalities we offer. 

We encourage you to read the privacy policy before you hand over your personal data to Haus.

We always inform you before collecting your personal data.

The collection of certain personal data is necessary to enable you to use the functionalities of the website and to deliver your order. On the website, the relevant forms will indicate whether the provision of the personal data is mandatory or optional. If the provision of personal data is mandatory, the relevant field will be marked with an asterisk (*).

If you provide personal data about persons other than yourself, we encourage you to first obtain the consent of these persons for the provision of the data.

3.1 Cookies

We use cookies to, among other things, optimize the user experience and the functions of the website as well as to prevent abuse and downtime. You can read more about the use of cookies in our cookie banner, which appears on the front page when you visit our website the first time. 

You can always change your cookie settings by clicking on the small cookie symbol in the lower left corner of the website.

Haus may collect the following personal data about you when you visit our website:

Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following bases:

  • Legitimate interests: We base the processing of your personal data on our legitimate interests in, for example, conducting statistics, analyses, providing support, as well as improving and developing our products and services and to market Haus to you (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Consent: When you visit our website, we ask for your informed consent to place cookies that are not functional cookies, according to the cookie rules. You can always withdraw your cookie consent (change your cookie settings and delete previously placed cookies) by clicking on the small cookie symbol in the lower left corner of the website.

Retention period
Cookies are deleted in accordance with our cookie policy, which is available via our cookie banner. However, the information may be stored for a longer period in anonymised form.

3.2 Webshop 

Types of personal data
When you use our webshop, we process your personal data. We may collect, process, and store the following types of your personal data:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and address
  • Your payment details 
  • Information about your order/purchase history
  • Information you provide when completing a purchase or otherwise communicate with us
  • Use of discount codes 
  • Consent to marketing, including newsletters and abandoned basket (see below)
  • Digital footprints (e.g., information about how you use our webshop)    

The purposes of the process
Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

  • Completion of orders in our webshop, including sending of order confirmation and invoice
  • Managing deliveries and complaints
  • Managing your membership account and your use of our membership benefits
  • Sending out marketing
  • Statistics and analysis    

Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following bases: 

  • Contractual obligations: We process your personal data to fulfil the purchase agreement concluded with you, including in order to deliver the ordered goods, handle order confirmations, complaints, returns, etc. (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Legitimate interests: We process your personal data based on our legitimate interest in marketing ourselves to you in cases where consent is not required as well as our legitimate interest in being able to conduct statistics and analysis with the purpose of developing and improving our services (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

Retention period
Personal data registered in connection with purchases on our webshop is stored for up to 6 years. The retention period is determined on the basis of the retention requirement in s. 12 of the Danish Bookkeeping Act (bogføringsloven).    

However, we can process and store your personal data for a longer period in anonymised form, or if we are obligated to do so by law.

3.3 Marketing, including newsletters, abandoned basket, and competitions

When you sign up for the Haus newsletter, you give us your consent to send you relevant news, offers, information about new products and services, information about abandoned baskets in our webshop and invitations to events etc., within furniture, lighting and accessories, via e-mail and social media. Our marketing is organized so that it takes preferences and interests into account based on information about your behavior and choices made on the website and in published marketing material.

You can revoke your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the individual inquiry or by writing to kontakt@ingvardchristensen.dk.

Types of personal data
Haus uses your personal data for direct marketing purposes, including sending out newsletters containing current offers and information about our activities, if you have given your prior and explicit consent to this. 

We may collect, process, and store the following types of your personal data:

  • Name, e-mail address, and town
  • Your consent
  • Clicking behaviour on the website and in published material 
  • Your preferences    
  • Your prizes related to participation in competitions

The purposes of the processing
Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

  • Targeted marketing, including personalised emails and newsletters 
  • Improving and developing our services
  • Analysis and statistics    

Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on one or more of the following grounds:  

  • Consent: We use your personal data for direct marketing, including the sending of newsletters and abandoned basket, if you have given your prior and explicit consent hereto (s. 10(1) of the Danish Marketing Act (markedsføringsloven) and Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation).  
  • Legitimate interests: The processing of your personal data in connection with analysis and statistics is based on our legitimate interests in improving and developing our services, and the processing of your personal data related to competitions and other events is based on our legitimate interests in organising these events and to contact you if you win a competition (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).    

Retention period
Your personal data will be stored as long as your consent to receive newsletters is active.

You can always withdraw your consent by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email or by contacting us as described below. However, withdrawing your consent does not affect the legality of the processing that preceded the withdrawal. 

We will keep documentation of your marketing consent for two years from the date you withdrew your consent to receive direct marketing material. We have determined the retention period based on our legitimate interest in being able to demonstrate that we have sent direct marketing in compliance with applicable legislation (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). 

 

4. If you contact customer service or otherwise communicate with us

Types of personal data
When you contact customer service, use our chat feature, or communicate with us in another context, we process the following types of personal data about you:

  • Name, email address, phone number
  • What your enquiry concerns, e.g., order and payment details
  • Date of your enquiry
  • Other information you provide in connection with your enquiry 

The purposes of the processing
Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

  • Handling your enquiry and any orders
  • Observance of any rights
  • General communication 
  • Statistics and analysis    

Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the below-mentioned bases. The basis depends on the nature of your enquiry. 

  • Legitimate interests: We may process your personal data based on our legitimate interests in handling your enquiry, communicating with you, and developing our products and services (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Contractual obligations: If your enquiry concerns the placing of an order or an order already placed, we process your personal data in order to fulfil the order (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).        

Retention period
How long we keep correspondence with you depends on the content of your enquiry. As a general rule, we do not keep correspondence for longer than 3 years, unless we need to document the correspondence for a longer period. 

Personal data relating to accounting records, which we are obliged to store under the Danish Bookkeeping Act (bogføringsloven), is kept for up to 6 years.

 

5. If you visit our furniture stores 

Types of personal data
When you visit our furniture stores, we process the following types of personal data about you:

  • Your purchases
  • Payment details 
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Photo and video material in connection with television surveillance in our furniture stores  

The purposes of the processing
Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

  • To complete your purchases
  • To provide customer service
  • To monitor and maintain the security of our furniture stores, including to prevent and solve crimes    

Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following bases:    

  • Contractual obligations: We process your personal data to conclude and fulfil the purchase agreement concluded with you, including to handle your payment, deliver or ship the purchased goods, handle complaints, returns, etc. (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Legitimate interests: We base the processing of your personal data on our legitimate interests in ensuring the safety of our visitors and our staff (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Data relating to criminal offences collected through CCTV is also processed based on our legitimate interests in solving criminal offences (s. 8(3) of the Danish Data Protection Act (databeskyttelsesloven)).    
  • Legal obligation: The processing of your payment details and information about your purchases is necessary for compliance with applicable bookkeeping, VAT, and marketing legislation (Article 6(1)(c) of the General Data Protection Regulation).    

Retention period
Surveillance footage taken for crime prevention purposes will be deleted or anonymised within 30 days from the day of the recording, unless it is necessary for Haus to retain the recording for the purpose of handling a specific dispute, for example in connection with solving a criminal offence.

Information relating to accounting records which we are obliged to keep under the Danish Bookkeeping Act (bogføringsloven), is kept for up to 6 years. 

However, we may process your personal data for a longer period in anonymised form.

Disclosure 
In the event of criminal acts or suspicion thereof, recordings from television surveillance, etc., can be disclosed to the police. Our surveillance cameras are registered in the Police Camera Register (POLCAM). Disclosure may also take place if required by law.

At the entrance to TV-monitored areas, we have placed signs locally in the furniture stores in accordance with the Danish Act on TV Surveillance (tv-overvågningsloven).

Haus and the social media providers are jointly responsible for the processing of personal data collected in connection with your visit to Haus’s profile or page on the specific social media platform.

Types of personal data
When you visit or interact with our social media profiles, Haus and the social media provider may collect, process, and store the following types of personal data about you:

  • Information available on your profile, including your name, gender, civil status, workplace, interests, image, and your town
  • Whether you “like” or have applied other reactions to our profile
  • Comments you leave on our posts, including in connection with competitions
  • That you have visited our profile

The purposes of the processing
Haus processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Improving our products and services, including our social media profiles and pages
  • Statistics and analysis
  • To communicate with you if you comment on a post, make a review, or send us a message
  • Marketing in general, including the organisation of competitions 
  • Recruitment

Social media providers process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Improving their ad system 
  • To provide Haus with statistics which the social media providers compile based on, among other things, your visit to our profiles and pages
  • Advertising and customising of the activities on the page 

Legal basis for processing
The processing of your personal data is based on the following legal bases: 

  • Legitimate interests: We base the processing of your personal data on our legitimate interests in communicating with you and market ourselves to you on our social media profiles, as well as our legitimate interest in improving our products and services (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).     

Social media providers base the processing of your personal data on their legitimate interests, including their interest in improving their ad system and providing statistics to Haus, which the social media provider, for example, complies based on your visit to Haus’s profile or social media page. In addition, the social media providers have a legitimate interest in providing an innovative, individually adapted, secure, and profitable service (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).     

  • Consent: The social media providers process some of your personal data in accordance with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through your social media privacy settings (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation).    

Retention period
We encourage you to delete comments, likes, and other interactions you have left on our profile yourself if you no longer want them shown on our pages. Haus does not delete such publicly available interactions.

If you communicate with us via direct messages on social media, please refer to paragraph 4 above.

Who do social media providers share your personal data with?
Social media providers may, among other things, share your personal data with the following categories of recipients:

  • Other entities in the group of which the social media provider is a part of
  • External partners providing analysis and survey services
  • Advertisers
  • Other individuals visiting our social media profile or page (to the extent that your personal data is publicly available)
  • Researchers and other academics

The social media providers may transfer your personal data to recipients outside the EU/EEA in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. 7. If you apply for a job with Haus

If you are applying for a job with Haus, you can read more about our processing of your personal data in connection with the recruitment process in this paragraph.

We recommend that your application does not contain a social security number or sensitive personal data, such as personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, religion, trade union membership, sexuality, or health information.

Types of personal data
Haus may collect, process, and store the following personal data:

  • Contact information such as name, email address, and phone number
  • Information contained in the application, CV, and any supporting documents
  • Relevant information publicly available on the internet and social media, including information on previous employment, activities, competences, performance, and general appearance
  • Results of personality tests if you complete any
  • Criminal records if required for the position you have applied for
  • References from your previous and/or current employers

Purposes of the processing
Your personal data is part of our evaluation of whether you will be offered a position at Haus.

Legal basis
Haus will process your personal data based on the following legal bases:

  • Your job application: We process your personal data, including your application and CV and any other supporting documents we receive from you, on the basis of your request to be considered for a vacant position with us (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Legitimate interests: We process your personal data based on our legitimate interests in assessing whether we can offer you a job, including on the basis of publicly available information on the internet and social media and based on references from previous and/or current employers (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). If the position you have applied for requires it, we may need to see your criminal record at a later stage of the recruitment process (s. 8(3) of the Danish Data Protection Act (databeskyttelsesloven)).

Retention period
If you are offered a position with Haus, your application and additional relevant personal data obtained during the recruitment process will be stored in your employee file according to Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation.    

If you are not offered a position, we will store your application and any additional personal data obtained during the recruitment process for a period of 6 months following our rejection, unless you have provided your consent to the storage hereof for a longer period.

You may withdraw any consent you may have given as part of our recruitment process at any time. The withdrawal of your consent will affect the future processing of your personal data but will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent prior to the withdrawal. If you wish to withdraw your consent, please contact us as stated below.    

If we have collected your criminal record, we will delete it immediately after our review.

 

8. If you are a contact person of a supplier, business partner, etc. 

If you cooperate with Haus through your professional activities, including as the owner of a sole trader business or as a contact person of one of our suppliers or other business partners, you can read more about our processing of your personal data here.

Types of personal data
Haus may collect, process, and store the following types of personal data about you:

  • Name, company, job title
  • Your work-related contact information, such as email address, phone number, and address
  • Contractual information, such as orders, invoices, contracts, and other agreements between your company (or your employer) and Haus, which may contain, for example, your contact information.
  • Other information included in our correspondence    

We may receive such information directly from you (primarily through emails and other correspondence with you) or from a third party such as your employer. We process your data if your company or the company you work for enters into an agreement with Haus, if you have shown interest in our products and services, for example by sharing your contact information with us, or in connection with other cooperations.

The purposes of the processing
Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

  • Management of our professional collaboration, including the fulfilment of agreements 
  • Statistics and analysis    

Legal basis for processing
Haus primarily processes your personal data on one or more of the following bases:    

  • Contractual obligations: In certain cases, the processing of your personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation).    
  • Legitimate interests: We may process your personal data based on our legitimate interests in administering day-to-day operations, including upholding our rights and obligations under the agreements we have concluded with our business partners (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).        

Retention period
Personal data relating to professional collaborations are generally kept for up to 6 years after termination of the agreement or collaboration unless specific reasons justify a longer retention period.

 

9. Disclosure to other data controllers and outsourcing to data processors

To fulfil the above purposes, we may give access to your personal data to third parties who provide us relevant services on the basis of a contractual relationship with Haus. This may include, for example, IT suppliers, mail and marketing providers and IT solution providers. Such service providers will only process personal data in accordance with our instructions according to concluded data processor agreements.

In the context of Haus’s development, the corporate structure may change, for example through the full or partial transfer of the activities of Haus. In the event of partial transfer of activities containing personal data, the legal basis for the related disclosure of personal data is generally our legitimate interests in developing and transferring activities (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

Your personal data may be transferred to data processors or data controllers established in countries outside the EU/EEA that do not have an adequate level of protection. Such transfers will only take place once a transfer tool is secured. The transfers will be based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer tool in accordance with Chapter V of the General Data Protection Regulation. If you have any questions or would like to know more about specific transfers, including the transfer tool, please do not hesitate to contact us. You also have a right to obtain a copy of the transfer tool. 

 

10. Your rights

  • You have the right to access the personal data we process about you
  • You have the right to object to our collection and further processing of your personal data
  • You have the right to rectification and deletion of your personal data subject to certain statutory exceptions
  • You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data
  • In certain circumstances, you may also request to receive a copy of your personal data and to transmit the personal data you have provided to us to another data controller (data portability)
  • You can withdraw any consent you may have given us at any time. We will then delete your personal data unless we can continue the processing on another legal basis. Our newsletter can be unsubscribed by clicking on the link at the bottom of the newsletter
